The purpose of this book is informational only and is about the leaders of that time. The value of this book is that it provides information on the major leader King Richard as well as his role in the Third Crusade. This book has all its sections accompanied by a bibliography but does not use the format of in text citations. It does have a balanced view on the topic and talks about the strengths and weaknesses of King Richard. The limitation of this book would be that it is a little bit dated but not long enough for it to affect the information. 1 Investigation The third crusade started in 1189 and its main goal was to recapture the Holy land. Its successes, both Christian and Muslim, are still reviewed to this day. The crusade consisted of three major monarchs: Emperor Barbarossa of the Holy Roman empire, King Richard of England, and King Philip of France. They all had one common goal and it was to set out and recapture the Holy land from Saladin. This crusade began in 1189 and would last for three years. With the Muslims, under the leadership of Saladin, recently taking control of Jerusalem from the Christians in 1187, they now owned a region that many wanted. There are many definitions for â€Å"beauty† but each individual changes throughout life based on what they perceive. The two major types of beauty are physical (or outer) and Inner beauty. Based on the facts and research on these two topics; I would like to show the similarities and differences in the way individuals may perceive one other. What is the first thing that catches your eye, from the opposite sex? The first thing I see or notice about someone is their appearance (physical beauty). Physical beauty is described as someone’s elegance, figure, features, and complexion or to the extreme as race (color). I know when I look at my appearance, I fixate or compare myself to other person’s features that may not apply to me. The way women force their outer beauty to become perfect with make-up, jewelry, hair, and clothing; explains why women have that power because men are drawn to physical beauty. If one person that has characteristics of physical beauty and one person that has inner beauty traits both walk by the same guy, which one do you think he will talk to first? You can’t see the beauty within a person. If that beauty on the outside is not up to one’s standards, of course the one judging is going to walk away. With that, you can’t see the inner beauty. One of the strong factors of inner beauty would be intelligence. As it takes time, more like years, to learn and develop so does inner beauty, building the confidence and self-esteem in one another, will improve outer beauty too. Many people believe this saying, â€Å"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The similarities and disadvantages of the two types of beauties are equal. I do think if we all focused on both aspects, of both beauties, we wouldn’t judge each other on differences. Though one beauty has advantages of appearance, the other may be mental stability and are happy with whom they are inside. Inner beauty may take a toll on a person mentally, what they wish to become, based on someone else’s appearance; then an individual with physical beauty m ay be â€Å"to† confident in themselves. Inner beauty can change, but with physical beauty you can’t change but â€Å"so much† and not including years will take off a person’s appearance. The individuals who symbol inner beauty would feel more deeply, and find it easier to release those emotions or stress; and with being healthier within, could make healthier choices in life. Someone mentioned The 4 Steps to the Epiphany to me and I started reading it.At the time, Steve Blank’s work was highly unorthodox – he was the only (?) person saying that â€Å"Build It and They Will Come.† is not a good strategy.I recommended my friends start reading Steve’s book so we could discuss his ideas – but few of my friends took me up on it. Meeting up with Brant Cooper and Hiten Shah in late 2009, they had similar problems – I believe it was Hiten who said â€Å"Someone needs to write the Cliff Notes to Steve’s book.†To which I said, â€Å"Why not us?†We self-published the book in early 2010.The Lean Entrepreneur, published by Wiley in 2013, was an entirely different experience. Multiple publishers had approached us because the Customer Development book had been so successful and they all wanted us to do a book with them.None of the deals made sense until we spoke to Wiley. They made a good deal for us financially and supported our vision for the book, a book that would expand upon Lean Startup and talk about Lean Startup and how to apply it in industries and sectors beyond tech. The activating incident if Frederic’s wounding which makes it possible for Catherine to nurse him and for the couple to fall in love. The rising action is marked by numerous coquettish games that Frederic and Catherine had. These fetish actions foreshadow their affection for one other. This is further demonstrated in their final days together, prior to Frederic’s departure to the front zero by the demands of love in competition with his life beyond their relationship. The rising action is also characterized by complications in the form Frederic’s growing affection for Catherine, his injury and her graveness. By the time Frederic is about to go back to the front, they realize that Catherine is three months pregnant (Hemmingway 149). Frederic sees a life he could have with Catherine as they live in Milan. Catherine’s pregnancy and the call to report to the front, however, divide Frederic’s loyalties, trapping him between two desires. The climax of the novel is the disastrous retreat at Caporetto and Frederic’s near-execution by the carabinieri, which utterly changes his attitude toward the war (Hemmingway 152). Frederic’s action during the Caporetto retreat becomes the turning point of the conflict between war and love. In shooting the Italian sergeant for desertion but then deserting the war himself, Frederic’s disillusionment with battlefield bravery is complete. He commits himself to his love for Catherine. The falling action comes is when Frederic decides to flee and abandon the army marking his farewell to arms.
